32errific.

I stole the 32errific from a friend, she likes to assign a positive twist to each new year. I like that, so at 32, I am a thief of wordplay.

Here is a recap of my birthday celebration:

Day 1 of my celebration: Alan Jackson
I went to the Alan Jackson concert with my mom (we drove to SC to spend some time with my family). From the lady with no teeth sitting next to me, to the stereo-typical southern gal in front of us, to the drunk 19yr old a few rows up, we were surrounded by entertainment. OH, then there were the 6'6" entertainers on stage - who the toothless lady drooled over. And if you are wondering how in the world a 19yr old could be drunk... I think I might know. Since we were surrounded by drunks, I thought mom and I should share a Yuengling. I walked up to the ID booth to get my wristband.... to which an older gentleman took my ID and looked at me. He said "You look like you should have been born in '84 not '74". I just smiled and thought.. really? I was born in '76.. but whatever. Then the nice man says "So, how's NC these days". Umm... can't say I really know, since I am from TN, as my licence indicates. But instead of actually saying that, I smiled and nodded and walked away to get my beer. And that folks is how I am pretty sure any underage person could get a wristband, the old man doing the IDs was blind as a bat.

Day 2 of my celebration: My Luau Party
Saturday was spent garage sale shopping and entertaining my niece.. who, LOVES me. I mean people... Aunt 'Chelle is a hit. "'Chelle, want to play with me?" "'Chelle, want to play in the bouncy house?" "'Chelle, want to go upstairs?" "'Chelle, Liam wants his daddy, want to go play with me?" Then afternoon rolls around and I have yet to shower for the day. My mom finally - after asking me like 10 times is like, MICHELLE, I really think you should shower. I am like, really? Okay, fine, guess I smell. I go shower and come back down to maragritas being made in the kitchen.. AWESOME.. and balloons on the mailbox... AWES... wait, what? Balloons on the mailbox? Oh yes... My mom had invited Betsy's family over for a surprise birthday party. The Harshbarger's show up with decorations in hand and the Luau begins... grass skirts and all. I never would have thought that on my 32nd birthday I would be in a bouncy house with an almost 3 yr old, a 2 yr old. and a one year old. But I was. Margaritas and a bouncy house. I wish I had pictures, but those are on my sister and mom's cameras.

After the party wrapped, Pol and I went downtown G'ville. We are wild, on the town sort of folks. Then we went home to crash.

Day 3 - Golfing
Sunday morning was spent having a tea party with my neice. And of course, more bouncy house. Then dad took Dawn and I golfing. Which was great - for the first hole anyway. I parred the first hole! and it was an honest par!! But after that my golf game fell apart. Oh well.. still had fun!

Day 4 - MY BIRTHDAY!
Had to show up to work on Monday.. which was fine and got birthday wishes from co-workers and friends. Cut out of work early and went coupon shopping, which might be my new favorite thing ever. Finally got home and unpacked our stuff from the weekend, then off to get Liam from daycare, then off to meet Pol at the zoo. The playground at the zoo is finally re-opened, so Liam had a great time. Then off to see the tigers eat a squirrel. Yes... we saw a squirrel fall out of a tree and land in the tiger cage. Needless to say, the squirrel did not make it out of the cage, the tigers have not forgotten their natural instincts. It's not everyday you get to see the animal kingdom come to life at the zoo! Sadly, I did not catch that on video. Then we headed home for a quiet evening of tacos and MarioKart. Just what I told Pol I wanted to do!

Day 5 - Party On!
A workday as usual... then out with some friends to celebrate my birthday! It was great fun and they gave me a coupon file box, a jar of M&M (with the blue and red ones picked out - if you know me really well, you know why), a Target shopping bag, and the best - a Starbucks card. OH, this actually was the best thing - the file box had a picture of Dave Ramsey on it. HAHA... anyone who has talked to me in the past few weeks knows that Pol and I are getting on the Dave Ramsey kick, thanks to Pol's sister. So I have been obsessed with listening to his CDs.

And now.. here we are, the parties are over and I am a year older. I'm okay with this, because I am 32errific.
