Happy Birthday Pol (yesterday)

Yesterday was Pol's birthday, his 31st, we are finally the same age again! Liam gave his daddy money for The Sip. Liam knows what keeps his dad happy!

For the long weekend we headed to Asheville to meet our new nephew and to hang out with the family. While in Asheville we also decided to make it a nice mini-vacation for us. Pol has always wanted to check out the Biltmore, so we finally went!! Below are some pictures of the fun weekend!!

The family at a picnic (next to a sign that says, no picnicing). Joshua didn't quite make it in the picture, he's sleeping in the stroller

Pol and I at the Biltmore. Below is a better picture. Someone saw us trying to take a picture of ourselves and kindly offered to help us out.

The Fuzz @ Daycare

As most of you know, Pol and I live in a somewhat questionable area. Well, it's really not THAT questionable. I mean, sure, every morning I drop Liam off I do park next to a man who is dumpster diving. And you do have your occassional drug addicts that roam the streets, but let's be honest people, we all live near drug addicts - according to the Today show, most people just get hooked on drugs in their medicine cabinet. Guess the only difference between my druggies and the suburbia druggie is that mine are more open about their issues.

The other difference is that the East Nashville druggies are getting busted right outside my son's daycare. Pol calls me the other day to say, "Hey, I'm getting Liam and there are like 3 cop cars here with some lady sprawled out on the ground. She looks totally strung out." Did I also mention that it was when all the young minds where outside on the playground. Can't you just see all these kids with their faces pressed up against the fence watching a lady get searched.

At least a lesson was taught at daycare today. Mess with the po po and they gonna to fugly you up for smokin the candy.

Life in a Zoo

Yesterday Pol, Liam and I visited the Nashville Zoo. We have one of those seasonal passes, so we figure we should start taking advantage of the pass. You know, before the thought of jumping in the water with alligators looks refreshing. We enjoyed, and we think Liam enjoyed, at least he didn't cry and he called everything da-da-da-da.

Pol works super close to the zoo. So he decided yesterday that he should start going to the zoo to eat his lunch. Sounds like fun, he gets out of the shop and shares a pb&j with some muskrats and tigers. I did tell him to not look at any kids like they are super cute, because a mom might think it's a little odd that a man is walking around a zoo by himself in the middle of the day... Betsy, if you are reading, you know what I mean.

I received a text from Pol during lunch today which was one of the funniest texts I have read in awhile:
"I think the most interesting animal in the zoo is the stay-at-home mom. They exhibit all sorts of odd behavior."
To which I responded:
Is the odd behavior that they are pulling their young close to them as the lone, creepy, unshaven, dusty, man follows them?

sleeping in

It is noon on Saturday and Liam has been sleeping since 9:30, this is a rarity! I mean, sure he woke me up at 6:30, even though I explained to him on weekends we sleep in, he didn't care. Though he did entertain himself in his crib until 7, which was nice. But to sleep for 2 1/2 hours for his morning nap... ahh... I got so much done! I mowed the lawn, swept and mopped the house, took a shower, did two loads of laundry, emptied the dishwasher, AND ate lunch. Heck, I should have been so bold as to give the dogs a bath, of course then he would have woken up.

So here I am, with time to blog on my Saturday. It's a strange feeling, as if I am being lazy. But I know if I start something, that is when he will wake up. Pol is at the shop, in case you are wondering where he is.

Oh great, the dogs just started barking at someone taking a walk... they are such good protectors, but I'm going to guess they will have woken sleeping beauty. That would be a good thing though, I want him to rise and shine so we can go to a landscaping place. Need to get my garden underway! I have the ground dug up, but no veggies! Oh, well better get the bottle made, in hopes Liam will have heard the ruckus from the dogs!

YOU PEED ON ME!!

Last night, as we are entranced by Lost, Pol looks down and goes "MOCHA, YOU PEED ON ME!" He kicks Mocha off the couch and I run to get towels. Luckily we have leather couches, so it wipes right up. Pol changed his clothes and sits back down. But then for the next fifteen minutes he keeps looking at Mocha and saying, "you peed on me, YOU PEED ON ME". For me, who did not get peed on, I thought it was funny. Mocha peed on Top Dog. hahaha.

A few weeks ago we had to take our sweet five year old dog to the vet because she is randomly peeing in her sleep. Turns out, Mocha is having bladder control problems (obviously). When she is sleeping she is losing control. The pee isn't a ton, it's just "leaking" out. But either way, it's a pain to clean up, though her bed is getting washed a lot more these days! She is taking pills to help her hold it, guess the pills haven't completely fixed the issue. In the future Pol will think twice before cuddling up to Mocha.

Ear Infection

Liam has an ear infection in both ears! No fun for a little man. He needed his daddy to take a nap with him.

Claire

A Lost theory I just heard:

Is Claire really a ghost? Did she die when the house blew up? Is that why Miles keeps looking at her so strange?

THAT WILL BLOW MY MIND!!!!

ps. I might be in love with Jin, more so than Sawyer.

pps. Pol and I have new Lost t-shirts. I will post a picture soon.
