Every marriage has trials... and it's the trials that you look back and laugh at. Pol and I had one of those times last night. I personally am already laughing at the situation, but it might take Pol about a month (or whenever his hair grows back) to laugh.
You see, for 6 years I have been cutting my husband's hair... and doing a pretty good job... if I do say so myself, and I do say so. There have been a few mishaps, few bloody ears, but nothing terrible. Last night there was a mishap... of gigantic proportions. My biggest fear has always been that I would use the wrong guard, or not use one at all. Pol's hair was crazy long so I went through with the 1in guard. Then combed his hair out. I was going to go back with the 1in, so I grabbed the razor and sliced through his head... from front to back. I did not realize that at some point I had taken the guard off, I guess to change it out. Problem is no guard was on when I cut through the hair. I actually thought to myself.. WOW, this is taking a lot off! Then I removed the razor to reveal Pol's bald head.
ME "oh no. oh no. oh no"
Pol: "You shaved my head, didn't you."
ME: "yes." inwardly screaming... YOU JUST SHAVED HIS HEAD!
Pol: "Well finish it off... you can't do anything about it now."
ME: "No.. no.. I can't. I can't shave your head. I am so sorry."
Pol: "You HAVE to... I can't go around with a shaved stripe."
ME: "What about a comb over? You could wear a hat until that part grows out."
Pol: "NO. Shave it all. You have to."
ME: "Oooooo.. what about a mohawk? I have already screwed it up, so let's make it fun."
Pol: "fine. I am going to get made fun of either way"
ME: "YES! MOHAWK! YOU WILL LOOK AWESOMESAUCE!"
Pol: "No, No I will not."
Then I gave my husband a mohawk.
And he looks like he is about to enlist in the army.
And I think he is cute.
And I am glad he still loves me.
And I am uber happy he let me take pictures!
