Sleeping

So... it has finally happened. Liam has discovered he can get out of his big boy bed. He has been in this bed for months and never once tried to get out... until yesterday morning. I awoke to a book being jabbed into my head. I thought at first Mocha had decided to claw at my head, but as I finally became aware of my surroundings I realize Liam is peeking his little head over our bed and handing me a book saying "mamma, want to read? mamma, read?" Which is the best way to wake up. Ever.

Last night we put the gate up at his door so that he couldn't roam the house in case he decided to get up on his own again. Sure enough this morning I hear a wimpering sound... sort of as if I had locked one of the dogs in a room. No dog, it was just Liam with his head poking over the gate. Reading time in bed with mom and dad. I do have to say, I think we will take the reading in bed over Liam's other way of waking us up... which consisted of him chucking each and every wheeled vehicle he owns at the door until we come and get him up. (by the way, every night he has to put every vehicle in bed with him. Some kids like furry animals, our kid likes to cuddle up to wheels.)

Here are a few pics of nighttime... first we have to play with the trains (before we put them all into bed)

Then we say night night to Scout. For some reason Liam has decided to act like Mocha no longer exists. We are not really sure why, we just know Liam refuses to say goodnight to Mocha. He will not even say her name anymore. He will only refer to Scout. Perhaps they had a fight and neither one will tell. Perhaps Mocha stole one too many of Liam's pieces of toasts. Perhaps he is proving he is not bottom dog. Whatever the reason we are sure it will pass because Mocha is too cute to stay mad at. Trust me.

Then it's reading time with daddy!

Prayer time comes after this, but I have no pics because Liam insists that both mamma and daddy pray. This might be my favorite part of the entire day. No, wait, it is for sure my favorite part.
