So... it has finally happened. Liam has discovered he can get out of his big boy bed. He has been in this bed for months and never once tried to get out... until yesterday morning. I awoke to a book being jabbed into my head. I thought at first Mocha had decided to claw at my head, but as I finally became aware of my surroundings I realize Liam is peeking his little head over our bed and handing me a book saying "mamma, want to read? mamma, read?" Which is the best way to wake up. Ever.
Last night we put the gate up at his door so that he couldn't roam the house in case he decided to get up on his own again. Sure enough this morning I hear a wimpering sound... sort of as if I had locked one of the dogs in a room. No dog, it was just Liam with his head poking over the gate. Reading time in bed with mom and dad. I do have to say, I think we will take the reading in bed over Liam's other way of waking us up... which consisted of him chucking each and every wheeled vehicle he owns at the door until we come and get him up. (by the way, every night he has to put every vehicle in bed with him. Some kids like furry animals, our kid likes to cuddle up to wheels.)
Here are a few pics of nighttime... first we have to play with the trains (before we put them all into bed)
Then we say night night to Scout. For some reason Liam has decided to act like Mocha no longer exists. We are not really sure why, we just know Liam refuses to say goodnight to Mocha. He will not even say her name anymore. He will only refer to Scout. Perhaps they had a fight and neither one will tell. Perhaps Mocha stole one too many of Liam's pieces of toasts. Perhaps he is proving he is not bottom dog. Whatever the reason we are sure it will pass because Mocha is too cute to stay mad at. Trust me.
Then it's reading time with daddy!
Prayer time comes after this, but I have no pics because Liam insists that both mamma and daddy pray. This might be my favorite part of the entire day. No, wait, it is for sure my favorite part.

20 years from now
So Liam has moved up to T3 at school (basically he is still with all his little friends but the teachers change). Teachers are now Ms. Alex and Ms. Vonne.
This morning Ms. Alex says: "I really want to know Liam in 20 years. I bet he is going to be a heart breaker. He is just going to be so cute and have all the girls. I just adore him, I would go out with him."
Me: "ummm, thanks? I bet you say that to all the mothers."
Don't get wrong.. for real, thanks. I think my kid is cute too. AND I appreciate you thinking so as well. But really... somehow it is really creepy to tell a mom that you want to hook up with her son in 20 years.
BUT.. he is cute...

sweet husband
I think some of you know by now, but Pol has his own blog site now, www.polbuckingham.blogspot.com. Mostly to update about music, but also he will probably update with other random funnies that only he is so good at.
Enjoy.

Fun in the condo...
Going to go ahead and try to get all the beach blogs done today... as well, if i don't, suddenly next summer will already be here...
Here are random pics from hanging in the condo.
nothing is cuter than a baby in a diaper
Liam chilled out playing with trains!
Josh getting in on the action
Anna also enjoying... though she would rather be playing princess.
Liam had to take his favorites and run for the couch so his cousins couldn't touch them.
Granddaddy always making them laugh
Me making them laugh... well Josh at least
The grandaddy and grandson photos...
the end
Picture overload!
I know.. I know... really too many pics.. but kids are cute so here are pictures of us actually at the beach!
First... I want you to see what we were swimming with. One day this HUGE school of fish swam by. The lifeguards made everyone get out of the water.. because SOMETHING was eating them. Might have been the shark pol and I saw earlier in the day. Seriously. It was just a tiny little shark in the inlet part, guess he came out for feeding.
Anthony got to play in the sand with Josh...
and hold a cranky Liam who wanted to keep running with his momma and Anna... But momma is not that fit and could not keep up running back and forth hold him and holding Anna's hand.
We did get some exercise playing ball on the beach. Dawn and I were playing but once Anna saw what was going on she need in on the action! She is actually really good at hitting!
Anna actually took a "break" and played in the sand with Liam.
I think right here she is asking him "Liam, when are you going to talk?" She asked him that a lot.. haha Sidenote: Liam can now say Anna and Josh's names! Whenever we look at the pics he yells them! Oh... and pretty sure he was calling me Aunt 'chelle by the end of the trip.. repetition really works.
Josh showing us what he found in the sand! Probably an old cigarette butt. haha.
Off to the water for Anthony, Anna, and me!
Josh was angry that he didn't get to go in the water with us!
But granddaddy cheered him up with jumping in the waves!
Granddaddy resting...
I think Anna is mad at me for something.. probably because I wanted to rest.
No worries.. we were back on good terms quickly and being goofy!
just a cute picture of Anna in her princess bathing suit.
On Liam's 2nd birthday, for whatever reason... guess he decided he was now a big boy... he braved the water! Up until then he remained in the sand. Maybe he just realized that dad's stories him being shark bait may not be true... heck, Anna and Josh had gone in and come back out alive.
On the edge.. there is no turning back...
carefully walking out with granddaddy...
Jumping the "waves"
WAIT... granddaddy you are too far away! the water will get me!
Liam may not want a picture.. but that doesn't stop me!
getting braver with daddy..
ooo... even standing in the water!
not going to stay still for a pic! Need to run away from the approaching wave!
