Morning Conversations

While I was getting ready this morning I hear this conversation:

Liam: SCOUT! This is MY ROOM! NO SCOUT! MY ROOM! Go away!
Me: Liam, Scout can be in your room. She's just laying there.
Liam: NO! Go Scout!
Me (walking to his room): Liam... let Scout stay where she is. She is fine.
Liam: Go away Scout.
Me (getting to Liam's room): She is fine. She is not touching anything.
Liam: Go Scout (as he shoves her out of the room). I am going to shut my door.
(door slams shut)
Good Grief... sibling rivalry. He goes crazy if the girls "play" with any of his toys.. basically if they walk past a toy or sit down on a car.

Another conversation that occurred while I was changing Liam's diaper.
Me: You have poo in your diaper
Liam: Let me see it.
(I show him the poo)
Liam: I want to eat it.
Then he laughed. Guess boys will be boys. Once he is potty trained I fear that I might just see him with his head in the toilet.

Random picture from this morning. I wanted to show you how I dress my boys alike and look at sweet Scout nosing her way in there.

Drummerboy

I have a few desires for my son:
1. I want him to have more musical ability than me... at least able to keep a beat.
2. I do not want him to have as much musical ability as his father.
3. I do not want him to be a tattooed drummer.

I am failing.

ps... I really do want him to be as musical as his father... I just don't want him to put me through what Pol put his mother through because of his music genius... by this I mean being homeless.

Tattoos

Yeah... our kid is so East Nashville. He is all about his tattoos these days... guess he has noticed his mom and dad are the only people in the coffee shop without tats... so he is trying to make up for our uncoolness. Once I scrub them off in the bath we must put more as soon as we get out of the tub, good thing his Valentine's day card came with a lot of extras!

Coffee

As Liam and I pulled out of the driveway this morning this conversation occurred:
Liam: I want coffee.
Me: What? No.
Liam: I WANT coffee.
Me: Liam, mommy doesn't get coffee. No coffee.
Liam: I WANT COFFEE.
Me: No.
Liam: One sip. (picture him concentrating to hold up one little finger and look at me with those big pleading eyes)
Me: Buds, mommy doesn't get coffee. Daddy gets coffee, but you are with mommy.
Liam: I want daddy.
Me: Too bad kiddo.
Liam: ONNNEEEEE. SIPPPPPP.
Me: No. The end.

We arrive at daycare. Liam sees the office is open. This conversation then occurs:
Liam: I want treat.
Me: No, you get a treat when you leave daycare not when you arrive. (the office has jelly bellies and skittles for the kids when they leave)
Liam: I WANT treat.
Me: Seriously, no.
Liam: I WANNNNTTTT TREEEAAAAAAAT.
Me: Keep walking.
Liam: (no words here, just one mean pouting looking)

At this point other teachers are greeting Liam. Liam just gave them this look of pure hurt and anger and stomped on by to where he has to put his coat. A few other teachers try to say good morning to my boy. He had none of it. He just kept his head down and his little eyebrows furrowed together. Now picture insane bedhead hair that I could not get tamed on him this morning. I dropped off a mad scientist.

I get in the car and I have this conversation:
Me: Your son wanted coffee this morning.
Pol: The Buckingham men need coffee to get their mornings started off right. I better go get one and swing it by the daycare so he can have his one sip.
Me: There is no hope.

My girls.

My sweet, sweet pup, Scout loved the snow. Every.Thing. about the snow. She was in snow heaven. She frolicked, she instigated playtime with Mocha, she rolled, she dug, and she smiled.

This is my all time favorite picture of her...

playing with daddy...

kissing mommy...

just enjoying the coldness...

Mocha on the other hand... she doesn't like to get her feet wet, or cold.

This is her asking to go back inside.

Winter Storm 2010

The worst snow Nashville has seen in seven years hit this past weekend... around 6 inches fell at our house. I know, I know, North Dakota family is laughing right now. Heck, Missouri family is probably laughing as well. But yes, 6 inches is a winter storm here in Nashville. We had a great time being snowed in. We played lots of trains, read lots of books, and ate lots of taco soup (a new favorite meal in the house).

OH, and we played outside in the snow.

We decided to be a little ghetto since we have no sled and use the laundry basket. Liam didn't seem to mind one bit. Plus he was less likely to fall out... though he did fall out a few times, and he really enjoyed telling us all about when "daddy crashed him out of the "car"."

We went for a walk and much to our happiness our favorite coffee shop was open... and luckily it's only a block from our house!

Below is a little video of Liam sledding. I was a little tired after going up and down this hill a million times. Liam says "all done" at the end, but he doesn't mean that. He means, this one run is all done, but we need to go ONE more time.
