Liam is talking so much these days. He just talks. About nothing. One night we were getting him ready for his bath and he just started chatting it up. So we turned on the camera. Of course he was not quite as chatty with the camera on, but you get the idea.
I am also fully aware that only the grandparents will want to watch this video in it's entirety. One exception... Kelley Kirker... you make a star appearance, so you need to watch.
Subtitles are to help those of you who don't speak toddler.

Continue
Let's continue with Highlights and Lowlights.
HIGHLIGHT:
1. Grocery shopping.
It's hard to see... but all over his face is marker.

2. Pol washed the dogs.
HIGHLIGHT:
1. Grocery shopping.
- Liam put marker all over his hand this morning... then it wound up all over his face.
- I didn't bother to wipe it off his face or his hands or his arms.
- Walking up and down the aisles of the grocery store my son chowed down on M&Ms while all the people commented on his cute artistic abilities.
- I spotted Allison Krauss.
- I couldn't justify following Allison into her checkout line when the one next to her had no waiting.
- Somehow Allison and company ended up behind me in my line. I have no idea how.
- She about ran into me and apologized.. I said "that's OK"
- She then saw my son's face and laughed.. out loud.. at my son. Then said, "he's cute"
- I mumbled thanks because I was chatting with the cashier man who was impressed with my double coupons.
- She (Allison) told her husband/boyfriend to check out my cute kid.
- I pretended like I didn't notice them gawking. Mainly because I was trying not to gawk back.
- I leave... but pause to find Liam's cars which have fallen into the cart. And it's a downpour outside so I want to have the cars before I go into rain.
- Allison's husband/boyfriend passes me and says "you don't have an umbrella.. Please, use mine"
- Me (like a dumb dumb) say.. "That's okay, we will run. Thanks though"
- I run to my car. I see Allison laughing at us. Still.
It's hard to see... but all over his face is marker.

2. Pol washed the dogs.
- I hate giving the dogs their bath.
- I don't know why I hate it. I just make it into more of a production.
- Pol just goes in there... the dogs get bathed and they all come out, happy and wet.
LOWLIGHTS:
1. Pink eye is now Pink Eyes.- I can no longer see out of either eye without gunk creeping into my vision with every blink.
- I woke up this morning with my eyes glued shut. I had to pry them open. Literally.
- I won't post a picture.. just for you DeAnne :-)
- Pol and I spent our afternoon with the wet/dry vac sucking out 2 inches of water.
- At least we cleaned up the basement a little bit.

Highlights and Lowlights
I feel like so much has happened this week that I have thought... OH, I need to blog about that! Sadly I have not had time to sit down... okay, that's a lie. I have had time to sit down and blog, but I have chosen to do other things with my time... like watch my husband flip through the list of movies we can get on the Wii via Netflix... as I am doing right now. Basically I am just going to hit the highlights and the lowlight of the week.
HIGHLIGHT #1:
I met Tenley from the Bachelor. Y'all... TENLEY.
I feel most of my friends have said it best on their blogs.. but here is my list.
1. She does poop rainbows.
2. She does sound like a Disney character.
3. She is the sweetest thing ever.
4. She did talk to us about the bachelor.
5. We did giggle like school girls.

HIGHLIGHT #2: I stood near Amy Grant. Y'all... AMY GRANT.
1. Let's make sure you understand.. Amy is married to VINCE GILL. I bet he was around, I really should have invited myself into her dressing room to see if he was there.
2. I did not speak to her. She never saw me.
3. She was an arm length away from me for about 3 minutes.
4. She is beautiful.. not in the 40-something, I must stay young even though I am middle aged way.
Sidenote: ACM's were on this week.. few observations: 1. For country music to adopt you into the fold, you must be blonde and very tan. Nicole must feel out of place there. 2. There is a new look for the veterans: not old, but definitely not young.. it's a weird hybrid of somewhere in between, and yet, it's just not right. Reba and Ronnie Dunn... you know what I am talking about.
Back to Amy...
5. Why did I not talk to her! Why did I have to be cool with her and not Tenley? (because trust me, I was not cool with Tenley!) In hindsight, I really should have just asked them both to be my BFF and let them duke it out for the #1 bracelet.
LOWLIGHT: Pinkeye. Y'all... PINKEYE.
1. It's pink. It's scratchy. It's irritating.
2. Makes me want to touch my eye just because I can't.
3. Medicine should make this all better in 24 hrs.
4. Hoping Pol and Liam do not get it! We will be the biggest germaphobia house for the next 24 hours.
5. I blame Liam's daycare. Okay, I don't blame the daycare, I blame the carrier monkeys who infested whatever I touched.

I like this kid
Here are some random pictures of Liam from the weekend. All photos taken with my phone.. and I don't have the cool iphone so you can make all your photos have some crazy look to them. You will have to be happy with my boring old phone quality pics.
This photo cracks me up. I have no idea why he has this look on his face. He was watching the train on the big big bridge. He could not have been happier, but I obviously caught this look of pain on his face. Perhaps it's because I told him he couldn't go up on the big big bridge with the train.

Time at the zoo:
Action shot of him jumping, it was his favorite.. until he discovered...

... the bridge. We went back and forth on this swinging bridge I think no less than 20 times.

Picnic with cheese.

Just hanging at the coffee shop.

I like this cute kid.

Work
So.. (ps, I realize A LOT of my sentences start with So... I have no idea why).. SO, today my email has been broken. I do most of my work on email, so that pretty much meant I wasn't overly productive today. It doesn't mean I twiddled my thumbs all day... I worked via blackberry, I even used the phone, and I walked to people's offices to have conversations. OH, and I have had lots of random conversations with co-workers. We discussed the important things, like how the ipad is going to make physical books obsolete and how that means the end of the world is coming. I am not sure how that jump was made, from ipad to end of world. I boil it down to being scared of change. Ehh... so we shall see, I highly doubt physical CDs and books will die soon, but it's coming... as soon as my generation no longer has a vote in the economy it will happen.
Moving on from there... we also discussed Lost and last nights AMAZING episode! New theory: Sideways world is if "Smokey" gets off the island.. everyone gets what they desire the most. It's not necessarily what is best for them... but it's what they desire. "Smokey" is always saying he will get them what they want. So there is the theory... chew on it. Tell me what you think.
I also updated the blog look. Not sure I like it.. it will probably change. Or I will be too lazy to change it for another year.. so it might stay the same. Time will tell.
OH.. and back to work. Most of you have no idea what I do.. and that's ok, because most of my co-workers don't know either. Not sure if that is or isn't job security, either way I know what I do. Below is an example of that. Normally I would not post stuff from work.. but I actually really like this series we are working on. I like Tenth Avenue North.. their music and them as people.
I will post the rest of the song by songs as they are available. Here is the first.. Healing Begins.

Easter!
I am joining the Easter party a little late.. but here are pictures from the weekend we spent with at my parents. We actually did not go there for Easter, but the weekend before.
Egg hunt!

Kids before they were allowed to dig into the chocolate!

Liam and Josh checking out Liam's loot.

Showing us the Reece's Cup he wants to eat.

Family fun.

Silly Granddaddy

Baking a Bunny cake

The bakers. All being themselves.

Final product.

Egg coloring time:

For the actual Easter day we spent the morning serving breakfast to the homeless. Liam came along and did great.. even though I was in charge of the sweet treats table and it was like torture to our child that worships Cookie Monster. Finally, I let him sit down and have a cookie because he had done so well! The afternoon was spent eating with our community group and dying easter eggs - and of course cracking them - Liam's favorite part! We topped the night off at church. I actually ended up serving in the nursery, so I didn't really go to church, but Pol did. We kept forgetting it was Easter since we didn't spend it with family.. heck, I kept thinking why are all the kids all dressed up at church today? Then I realized... oh, It's EASTER. I really should have put Liam in something other than shorts and a t-shirt with Easter dye all over it. Oh well, pretty sure Jesus loves even the sloppy dressed children!

Learning the hard way
You can tell your child over and over DO NOT TOUCH! And the child will touch. You can tell them over and over... THE OVEN IS HOT. They don't really believe you until they touch.
Liam now believes us.
Saturday night I knew Liam was behind me as I pulled out the lasagna. I had my body shielding him from it as I said... "the oven is hot.. don't touch". As I was placing the pan down on the stove I looked down and Liam had scooted up next to me and I watched as he reaches out with his little hand and wraps it around the oven rack. The rest... well is one big burn.

Here is the boo bunny that made everything better. It holds a little ice pack in it's belly. Liam clung to this bunny like it was life support for the rest of the night. As he says "boo bunny makes it all better." Thanks Grandma Teri for the bunny and the reminder to use it!

Here is his hand now.. just a big blister.
