Christmas Crafts

L has been busy doing crafts. First he made a snowman with his daddy. Pol came up with this craft one afternoon and I came home to a wonderful new wall decoration! L got to measure, paint, and glue the buttons. He loved working with Pol down in his workshop and told me all about it when I got home. He did let me know that he was not allowed to use the saw, but he was allowed to use the nail gun.

His father and I will be talking about what tools are and what tools are not acceptable for a 3 yr old to handle. Nail gun will be on the not acceptable list.

So cute:

We met up with my family this past weekend for Christmas.. pictures coming soon in regards to the weekend as a whole. This particular blog will only focus on the craft time.. cookies. The pink frosting is for Anna's 5th birthday party. The kids did a great job decorating.. and my sister did a great job facilitating the crafty-ness and even better... allowing messy-ness (I was shocked too!) :-)

It's a simple fact we stay on track

Though sometimes we digress
But that can only happen on the Polar Express

L-I-am: The hair cut shop

Tonight I cut Pol's hair and L stayed up for a bit to watch the exciting process.

Me: Buds, want me to start cutting your hair like I do daddy's?
L: You can't cut my hair because I just go to the hair cut shop. I put the card in the slot and I get a prize. Then I can play with my prize in the tub. So you can't cut my hair.
Me: But if I cut your hair I could get you a really cool prize since we would save money.
L: humm... you get me a train and maybe you could cut.
Me: I was thinking more like a hot wheels car.
L: Na, I just go to the hair cut shop and get a prize.
Me: You drive a hard bargain son.

About 15mins later L is sitting on the potty and I am still cutting Pol's hair.

Me: Hey buds, you sure you don't want me to try to cut your hair next time?
L (in a frustrated voice and slightly shaking his head): MOM! We've already had this conversation! REMEMBER? The hair cut shop and THE PRIZE? I am going to pee now. NO more talking.

The Train

In case you haven't heard. L might have a thing for trains. This is the letter he wrote to Santa Claus about a month ago.

He dictated it. And yes, he called himself "L".

ps.. your gift might/will be late, but come on, it's me, would you expect any different?

Thankful for a new post

It's okay. You can be thankful I am back. As usual, life has gotten in the way of the importance of blogging. I have a ton to catch you up on, but for now I will just leave you with pictures of Thanksgiving with my family in South Carolina.

The boys spent lots of time staring at the Christmas train around the tree. Please notice where L's hand is. I mean really, what a boy thing. Hand resting on his butt. He's just like his father.

I love this photo of L and the girls. I love how Scout is refusing to have anything to do with this nonsense.

You might notice I am half asleep. This was taken the day after I pulled an all-nighter for Black Friday deals. Don't you worry, I will give you that post in the next few days.

Anna and I bonded over ring pops. Who doesn't love a princess ring pop.

L spent lots of time on the bike.

And there was an intense game of corn hole. Just look at the concentration in Dawn's face!

Pol and Anthony did not have the concentration.. perhaps why they lost.

Pol and I braved taking the three kids downtown for pizza and lights. They had a great time and would not stand still for a photo.. well except Josh.
